What exactly is KNX, and why choose it?

KNX is an open international standard for home and building automation. It connects lighting, heating, ventilation, blinds, sensors and controls within one shared architecture.

Certified KNX products from more than 500 manufacturers are configured with ETS software. This interoperability allows devices to be selected for the project instead of tying the building to one brand.

Core automations run locally in KNX devices. Internet access, an app or a cloud service can extend the system, but correctly designed basic functions do not depend on them.
